How we make money

Helmet Scout is free to use. When you click through to a retailer and buy, we may earn a small commission from that retailer, usually through an affiliate network such as Awin. You pay the same price either way.

Commission never decides which helmets we list, how we rank them or what we say about them. We show every retailer we have a price for, cheapest first, whether or not they pay us. Links that can earn us commission are marked as such, and every page with them carries a note saying so.

If a retailer or brand ever pays for a placement, it will be clearly labelled “Ad” or “Sponsored”. Rankings and verdicts are never for sale.

Safety ratings are SHARP’s, not ours. We show them exactly as the Department for Transport’s SHARP scheme publishes them, linked to its own pages, and nobody can pay to change them. SHARP doesn’t endorse Helmet Scout, and we have no connection with it.
