Modular (flip-up) helmets
Also called system or flip-up helmets: in SHARP's words, they have "a lower face guard covering the chin and mouth which can be raised above the forehead". SHARP tests them with the chin guard closed and publishes a latch score: how often it stayed fully locked during the impact tests.
Sources: SHARP, “What does the latch score mean?” and “The anatomy of a label” (checked 9 Oct 2026).
